Abstract

The success of a lesson is determined by the effort of teachers in providing instructional systems delivered to learners. Therefore, a teacher must be good to choose a model of learning in order to motivate their students, by the use of teaching methods that engage students actively, one of which is a model of cooperative Cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC). This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model Cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) to the students' learning activeness on the material Plants (Plantae). The research was conducted in SMA Nurul Iman Palembang in Bebruari Januarai until 2017. The method used is the method of quasi experimental design experiment with design and type design Nonequivalent design. The population of this entire class X SMA Nurul Iman Palembang which consists of three classes each number average class of 35 students, with class 1 as an experimental class X. and X. 3 as the control class, sampling was conducted using purposive sampling basis intentionally / aims to select two classes of third grade. The instrument used was a questionnaire activity of learning and observation sheet. The results of the analysis of both classes using t-test is obtained for t = 3.705 while t table with α = 5% means that H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. Data from students' activeness observation sheet shows the experimental class is higher than the control class, with 74%> 56%. This shows that there is a significant effect of cooperative learning model using Cooperative mode integrated reading and composition (CIRC) to the liveliness of class X student in plant material (Plantae) in high school Palembang Nurul Iman.
