Abstract
This research is motivated by the low learning result of the students because the learning process is still the teacher center, the teaching and learning activities still use the lecture method and occasionally use the method of discussion that causes the learning atmosphere tends to be boring so that the results of the students of class X MA Bahrul Ulum Banyuasin on low biology subjects, with a student mastery score of 68.5%. This study aims to determine how much influence the implementation of guided inquiry learning model on ecosystem material. The research method used in the form of quasi experimental design with the research form used is matching pretest-posttest control group design. Population and sample are all students of class X MA BAhrul Ulum Banyuasin, sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection tool used in this research is objective test, questionnaire, and observation sheet. Validation and reliable results indicate that the instrument of the research instrument shows feasible use. Data analysis using t-test, Data analysis use the t-test. Data on the calculation difference average posttest both groups earned value t-test much as 5,1 while value t-table with significant level 5 % with degrees of freedom (dk) 74 is equal to 1,66, it can be said that t-test > t-table means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) be accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) rejected. This shows that the guided inquiry learning influence the student’s cognitive learning on the material ecosystem.
