Abstract
Fire caterpillar (Setothosea asigna) is one of the main pests in the cultivation of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) which can damage up to 80 %. One of the controls that can be used is by utilizing Mimosa plants (Mimmosa pudica L.) that have the potential as the nabati pesticides (insecticides). The aims of this study is to find out the potential of Mimosa powder as nabati pesticides that reach the concentration of the right Mimosa powder to handle the fire caterpillars at oil palm plants and its impact at oil palm plants growth. This research is used experimental design with random sampling as the method. This research used Mimosa pesticides that contained of four concentration (0,3 gram, 0,4 gram and 0, 5 gram dan 0,6 gram) and added one treatment as the control. The result of this study showed that Mimosa plants at a concentration of 0,6 gram which its Mimosa powder is impacting at the death of caterpillars fire (Setothose asigma) value Fcount= 4.630 ≥ Ftable= 3.10 at a significant level of 1 %. Based on the results of the Variety Analysis (ANSIRA) test, Mimosa powder (Mimmosa pudica L.) proved to have a very significant effect on the death of the caterpillars larvae (Setothose asigma) in order H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected.
