The method used in this study was purposive sampling. Self-Rating Scale for Self-Directed Learning (SRSSDL) and TOEFL reading comprehension achievement test were given to collect the data. The data analysis used Pearson Correlation in SPSS 22. From Product Moment Correlation Coefficient r-obtained was lower than value of r table (0.048 < 0.235). The value of probability (0.694) was higher than (0.05), meaning that there was no correlation between self-directed learning and reading comprehension achievement. In other words, self-directed learning is not the factor for influencing students’ reading comprehension achievement. Keywords: self-directed learning, reading comprehension achievement.
