Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out whether or not there is any significant difference on students’ reading comprehension score taught using magnet summaries and the strategy that the teacher usually used to the tenth grade students of MA Al-ittifaqiah Indralaya. The populations of the study were all of the tenth grade students at MA Al-ittifaqiah Indralaya in academic year of 2013/2014. The sample of the study was selected by using convenience sampling method. The samples of this study were class X.f as an experimental and X.h as a control group. Both of classes consist of 68 students. To verify the hypotheses, the score data from posttest in the experimental and control groups were analyzed by using Independent Sample T-Test analysis in SPSS program. The finding showed that p-output (Sig 2-tailed) was 0.000 it was lower than 0.05. It is also showed that T-obtained was 10.725 and Df 66. The result of the study showed that there was a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension score. In another way, it could be stated that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative (Ha) was accepted. It means that there is a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension score taught using magnet summaries and the strategy that usually used by teacher at MA Al-ittifaqiah Indralaya.
