Abstract
This thesis discusses "Misuse of Collection Utilization in the Library of the Adab Faculty and Humanities of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang" where the problem is how to abuse the use of collections and forms of collection misuse, what factors encourage users to take action to abuse the use of the collection, how the efforts made by librarians in tackling the misuse of collections.The purpose of this research is to find out the cause of the misuse of the use of collections in the Library of the Adab and Humanities of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang and to find out the efforts made by the librarians in tackling the misuse of the use of collections in the Library of the Adab and Humanities of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang.This research uses descriptive qualitative research, in this study the researchers tried to describe the misuse of the use of collections that occur in the Library of the Adab and Humanities Faculty. Primary and secondary data sources, and the number of informants selected in this study were 7 informants consisting of 2 library staff, and 5 library users who were in the library in accordance with predetermined criteria. Data collection techniques used are observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis method used is data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions.The results of this study indicate that almost all of the misuse and activity of the use of collections and forms of collection abuse in the Adab and Humanities Faculty Library, such as: theft, mutilation, illegitimate borrowing, and vadalism. The driving factor that causes the misuse of the use of the collection is because of the urging of the motives and needs of the visitors. And the efforts made in tackling or handling that has been done at the Library of the Adab and Humanities of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang is the application of automation, manually, CCTV, HR and self-awareness of users.
