Abstract

Teacher strategy is technique used by teachers to deliver the English material in ways that keep learners interested in learning any skills. This study was done to know the teachers’ strategies in teaching speaking to SMK Negeri 5 Palembang. This study took a teacher as the participant of the study by using Convenience sampling method. This study employed qualitative method with case study design. The data collected through interviews were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The result of this study showed that the teacher used discussion, role play, and driling as the strategies in teaching speaking to SMK Negeri 5 Palembang.
