This study aimed to determine the relationship between democratic leadership style and work motivation on employees of Muhammadiyah University of Palembang. The this study involved 120 employees of the University of Muhammadiyah Palembang as the subject. The data was collected by using the scale of democratic leadership style with work motivation. This study used correlational quantitative methods with Pearson's product moment analysis. All statistical calculations were carried out using the SPSS version 22.00 computer program for windows. Based on the results of the analysis, the correlation coefficient valued of r= 0.406 with a significance of 0.000 where p = <0.05 meant that there was a significant positive relationship between democratic leadership style and work motivation of the employees of Muhammadiyah University of Palembang.
