Abstract
The purpose of this research was to find out the teacher’s classroom management strategies in teaching and learning English for young learners. The participant for the research was an English teacher and fifth grade students Al Kahfi at SD IT Izzuddin Palembang. A qualitative research design with case study method was used in this research. In order to collect the data, observation and interview method were implemented in order to get a depth description and the picture of the classroom management strategies in teaching English for young learners. To analyze the data, the researcher used thematic analysis to determine classroom management strategies in teaching English for young learners. The findings indicate that there were several classroom management strategies used by the teacher in teaching English for young learners, they are 1) the physical environment of classroom, 2) teacher voice and body language, 3) unplanned teaching, 4) prevent misbehavior of students, 5) teaching style, 6) creating a positive classroom climate.
