Abstract
This study was intended to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in writing activities at SMK Unggul Negeri 2 Banyuasin III. It used a qualitative research with a case study to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in writing activities. The study was conducted at SMK Unggul Negeri 2 Banyuasin III with six students as the participants by using one of the purposeful sampling, maximum variation sampling. In collecting data, the researcher used interview through open-ended questions. The data were analyzed by using thematic analysis technique. The results of this study shows that there were four perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in writing activities, as follows: (1) perceived progress of vocabulary, (2) no improvement in grammar, (3) easy to use in finishing assignment, and (4) Students’ lack of motivation when Google Classroom is used. Then, by knowing the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in writing activities, the students can explore by themeselves on the use of e-learning to upgrade the English profiency.
