Abstract

This study was intended to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in reading activities at SMP IBA Palembang. This study used a qualitative research with a case study to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in reading activities. This study was conducted at SMP IBA Palembang with six students as the participants by using purposeful sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used interview through open ended questions. The data were analyzed by using thematic analysis technique. The results of this study based on interviews could be concluded that there were five perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in reading activities, as follows: a) Google Classroom helped students to understand the material, b) the ease of access, c) the useful features, d) lack of direct interaction, and e) network problem.
