Abstract
This thesis discusses the political interests of women in the contestation of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in Tanjung Merbu Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency in 2019. The researchers here aim to see what lies behind the political interests of women in nominating themselves as members of the Village Consultative Body (BPD). in Tanjung Merbu Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency in 2019. The second is knowing how the Women's Village Consultative Body Candidates in Tanjung Merbu Village are trying to choose the political interests of women in the Village Consultative Body (BPD). The research method used in this thesis is a qualitative methodology through descriptive analysis, documentation, and interviews. The theoretical basis in this thesis is the theory of political interest from Almond and Verba from this theory defined as individual interest and attention to village government and public affairs, the theory of women from Kartono and Sharq that women have the right to freedom in choosing to become leaders, rural politics according to Bintarto in Pihandita, as a place for the development of the demokartization of the Indonesian state, the role and function of the BPD based on the law that governs it. The author uses this theory to find out the political interests of women in the context of the BPD (Village Consultative Body) in Tanjung Merbu Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency in 2019. Based on the results of this study, it shows that the political interests of women in the Village Consultative Body in Tanjung Merbu are able to convey the aspirations of the village community, women can be a mouthpiece between the community and the village head and village government regarding existing problems. So that the efforts of the Candidates for the Women's Village Consultative Body to choose Political Interests are able to carry out the Vision and Mission before being elected as Women's Representative in the Village Consultative Body. The supporting factor of the Political Interests of Women is the Law on Membership of the Village Consultative Body. So that women have the freedom to participate in politics that there is no prohibition for women to enter the world of politics. Based on this research, it is hoped that it will become information and input for students, academics, local governments, and those in need in the Islamic Politics Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN RadenFatah Palembang.
