Abstract
Multiple representation is a technique in various forms which aims to describe the concept at three levels of representation, namely macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic. This study aims to describe the ability of various representations students in understanding salt hydrolysis material for class XI IPA at SMA Negeri 1 Plakat Tinggi. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The research sample was class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Plakat Tinggi. The results showed that the students' multiple representation ability in understanding the salt hydrolysis material at SMA Negeri 1 Plakat Tinggi was categorized as sufficient because some of the indicators of multiple representation ability were met. The students' multiple representation abilities at the macroscopic level were in the "good" category, the symbolic level in the "enough" category, and the submicroscopic level in the "poor" category. Key words: Multiple Representation, Salt Hydrolysis
