Abstract
This study was conducted to determine whether the area and thickness of PTO composition of water hyacinth stems and banana midribs were effective in increasing the growth and yield of rice plants. Experiments were arranged in a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 (six) replications and compared with controls. The L factor is the PTO area (L) which consists of 5 levels, each of which is, L1: 15x15 cm, L2: 20x20 cm, L3: 25x25 cm, L4: 30x30 cm, and L5: 35x35 cm. While factor II is the thickness of PTO (T) which consists of 6 thicknesses, namely T1: Neutral, T2: 8 mm, T3: 10 mm, T4: 12 mm, and T5: 14 mm. The experimental results prove that the width and thickness of PTO have an effect on plant height as evidenced by the results of P<0.05. PTO area and thickness affect the number of tillers, PTO area and thickness affect panicle length, and PTO area and thickness affect dry grain weight. However, the results showed that there was no interaction between area and thickness on PTO as evidenced by P> 0.05. From these results on the area and thickness of the PTO made in influencing the growth and yield of rice plants. Keywords: Water hyacinth extract, PTO, Growth, Plant yield
