Abstract

Sungkai leaf is a plant that is trusted by the public as a cure for COVID-19. Water and ethanol extracts of Sungkai leaves contain phenolic content which is thought to be able to play a good role as an antioxidant that can increase the immune system (immunomodulator) of COVID-19 disease. This study aims to determine the phenolic content and antioxidant activity using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. The study showed the ratio of phenolic levels of water and ethanol extract of sungkai leaves at a concentration of 0.1% was 0.002% and 0.007%, while the ratio of antioxidant activity (IC50) was 0.02; 0.04; 0.06; 0.08; and 0.1% in water and ethanol extract of sungkai leaves were 0.025% and 0.03%. Keyword : antioxidant, sungkai leaves, phenolic
