Abstract
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to find out the teacher's strategy in teaching English speaking at MTs Darul Huda Buay Pemaca, OKU Selatan. In this study, the researcher used qualitative research. A participant in this study was the eighth grade English teacher by using homogeneous sampling technique. In this study, researcher used interview to collect data. It was conducted to determine the strategies used by English teachers in teaching speaking skills and data from interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings from the research showed that the teacher used some strategies in teaching English speaking when teaching at MTs Darul Huda Buay Pemaca, OKU Selatan; dialogue, discussion and debate, presentation, conversation, and storytelling.
