Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and altruism. This research method is correlational quantitative. The research subjects are members of the Indonesian Volunteer Society (MRI) of Palembang City who are students, students and workers who are willing to help people who need assistance. The population in this study were 120 volunteers, while the sample consisted of 89 volunteers. The sampling technique used in this study is the Simple Random Sampling (Simple) technique, this study uses a quantitative correlation method with Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. All statistical calculations were carried out using SPSS version 25 for windows. Based on the results of the analysis, the correlation coef icient between altruism was r = 0.629 and F = 1.289 with a significant value of 0.000 where p = <0.05. So there is a relationship between self-esteem and altruism in the Indonesian Volunteer Society (MRI) of Palembang City.
