Abstract

Tofu dregs are solid waste from the tofu-making process. Tofu pulp has nutrients that can be reused as a carrier for the growth of the fungus Trichoderma harzianum, however, tofu pulp cannot be used directly as a carrier because tofu pulp has a high water content which causes storage of tofu pulp not to last long. Efforts to extend the storage period of tofu dregs by making tofu dregs into flour. The aims of this study were to determine whether tofu dregs could be used as a carrier in Trichoderma harzianum pellet formulations and to determine whether pellet storage time had an effect on the density of Trichoderma harzianum conidia and the viability of Trichoderma harzianum conidia. The research method used was experimental and the research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications (25 experimental units). Parameters observed were conidal density, conidia viability and pellet durability which were observed once a week for 4 weeks. Tofu dregs can be used as a carrier material which has a significant effect on conidia density, conidia viability and durability. Treatment (4) F4 produced the highest average conidia density of 20×109 conidia/ml, conidial viability of 93% and durability of 97%, and storage time did not affect conidia density and conidial viability (stable).
