Abstract

Lime (Citrus aurantiifolia) is a plant that has many benefits. This plant is needed on a large scale to produce biomass. Medicinal plants whose populations are decreasing can be developed through scientific technology by isolating endophytic fungi. Endophytic fungi are microorganisms that are found in plant tissues without causing damage to their host plants. Therefore, the aim of this study is to identify endophytic fungi present in Lime (Citrus aurantiifolia) plants. The results of the study obtained 10 isolates of endophytic fungi from different tissues (leaves, stems, bark, roots, fruits) of plants. Endophytic fungi were identified through macroscopic and microscopic characteristics and then compared with an identification book of endophytic fungi. The first isolate with the code (CTD1) is known to be of the Beltrania genus, isolate 2 (CTD2) is of the Nigrospora genus, isolates 3 and 9 (CTBA1 and CTBU1) are of the Fusarium genus, isolates 4 and 5 (CTBA2 and CTKBA1) are of the Pythium genus, isolate 6 (CTKBA2) is of the Paecilomyces genus, isolate 7 (CTA1) of the Mucor genus, isolate 8 (CTA2) of the Mortierella genus, and isolate 10 (CTBU2) of the Chaetomium genus. Some of these fungi are endophytic, saprophytic and some are pathogenic. Keywords: endophytic fungi, lime (Citrus aurantiifolia), isolation, identification. ABSTRAK Tanaman jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantiifolia) merupakan tanaman yang mempunyai khasiat obat. Tanaman ini diperlukan skala besar untuk menghasilkan biomassa. Tanaman obat yang jumlah dan juga populasinya semakin sedikit dapat dikembangkan melalui teknologi sains dengan cara mengisolasi fungi endofit. Fungi endofit adalah mikroorganisme yang terdapat di dalam jaringan tumbuhan tanpa menimbulkan kerusakan pada tanaman inangnya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jamur endofit yang berada pada tanaman jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantiifolia). Hasil penelitian mendapatkan 10 isolat fungi endofit dari jaringan yang berbeda (daun, batang, kulit batang, akar, buah) tanaman. Fungi endofit diidentifikasi melalui ciri makroskopis dan mikroskopis lalu dibandingkan dengan buku identifikasi jamur endofit. Isolat pertama dengan kode (CTD1) diketahui bergenus Beltrania, isolat 2 (CTD2) bergenus Nigrospora, isolat 3 dan 9 (CTBA1 dan CTBU1) bergenus Fusarium, isolat 4 dan 5 (CTBA2 dan CTKBA1) bergenus Pythium, isolat 6 (CTKBA2) bergenus Paecilomyces, isolat 7 (CTA1) bergenus Mucor, isolat 8 (CTA2) bergenus Mortierella, dan isolat 10 (CTBU2) bergenus Chaetomium. Fungi ini ada yang bersifat endofit, saprofit dan ada juga yang bersifat sebagai patogen. Kata kunci: fungi endofit, tanaman jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantiifolia), isolasi, identifikasi.
