Abstract
Making the decision to take the Biology Education Study Program is certainly not an easy thing for students. Many students experience difficulties in making decisions because they do not know their interests and talents and have not found potential within themselves, so they experience confusion in choosing a major in Higher Education. One form of decision making that is important for students is the selection of majors because the choice of majors will affect the individual's subsequent life. This thesis aims to measure the influence of interest in becoming a teacher on the decision to take the Biology Education study program for new students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This type of research is a type of quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The data sources used primary and secondary data sources, the research sample was 48 students, using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques by way of observation, documentation, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique is through quantitative descriptive analysis, then from the results of the questionnaire the data is analyzed and processed through the SPSS program. The results of the research based on hypothesis testing showed that there was an influence of interest in becoming a teacher on the decision to take an educational study program for new students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang by 25.9%. From the results of the correlation calculation analysis of 0.259 is real or equal to 25.9%. This means that it has a significant influence on the interest in becoming a teacher on the decision to take an educational study program for new students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang.
