Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social media addiction and phubbing behavior. The research approach used is research with correlational quantitative methods and data collection using a scale. The total population in the study was 182 students and a sample of 126 students of the Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Psychology, class of 2020 UIN Raden Fatah. The technique of determining the sample using purposive random sampling and the Slovin formula. The research instrument used is the social media addiction scale which was developed from the dimensions of social media addiction according to Griffiths (2005) and the phubbing behavior scale using the Phub-S measurement tool from Iredho Fani Reza (2020). The results of data analysis using the Pearson’s Product Moment correlation analysis technique assisted by the SPSS version 26 application show that there is a very significant relationship between social media addiction and phubbing behavior. This is evidenced by the results of the correlation coefficient, namely r = 0.672 with a sig value (p) = 0.000 where p <0.05. Keywords : Social Media Addiction, Phubbing Behavior Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara adiksi media sosial dengan perilaku phubbing . Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dengan metode kuantitatif korelasional dan pengumpulan data menggunakan skala. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian yaitu 182 mahasiswa dan sampel sebanyak 126 mahasiswa Program Studi Psikologi Fakultas Psikologi Islam angkatan 2020 UIN Raden Fatah. Teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan purposive random sampling dan rumus Slovin. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah skala adiksi media sosial yang dikembangkan dari dimensi-dimensi adiksi media sosial menurut Grifffiths (2005) dan skala perilaku phubbing menggunakan alat ukur Phub-S dari Iredho Fani Reza (2020). Hasil analisis data dengan teknik analisis korelasi Pearson’s Product Moment dibantu oleh aplikasi SPSS versi 26 menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara adiksi media sosial dengan perilaku phubbing. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil koefisien korelasi yaitu r= 0,672 dengan nilai sig (p)= 0,000 dimana p<0,05. Kata Kunci : Adiksi Media Sosial, Perilaku Phubbing
