Abstract
This study discusses the Religious Awareness of Scavengers at TPA Sukawinatan, Sukarami District, Palembang. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive design. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The purpose of this study was to determine the religious awareness of scavengers at TPA Sukawinatan, Sukarami District, Palembang. Religious awareness is the state of a person remembering, knowing, realizing, and being aware of His creator so that he acknowledges the existence of his God within him, with this condition a servant will carry out all religious orders and stay away from His prohibitions consciously without any element of compulsion. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that religious awareness among scavengers at TPA Sukawinatan, Sukarami District, Palembang is based on the religious dimension which includes the dimensions of belief, the dimension of religious knowledge, the dimension of religious worship or practice, the dimension of appreciation or experience, and the dimension of practice. The three subjects have fairly good religious awareness, because they cover all dimensions of religion. Jobs that are seen as slums because they are dealing with garbage and dirt are not a hindrance for them in carrying out their worship. Keywords: Religious Awareness, Scavengers
