Abstract
ABSTRACT Feminism is a women's emancipation movement that fights for its rights both Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari both want to fight for women's rights. The formulation of the problem in this study is the first, how the foundation of feminist thought from Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari. Secondly, what do the thoughts of Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari and Third, what are the differences in the thinking of Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari. This study aims to find out how the thinking of figures who do not live in the same era, different places and religious backgrounds but they are able to provide solutions to the same problems regarding feminism. This type of research is library research. Research has a qualitative descriptive nature by systematically outlining the thoughts of Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari and comparing the thoughts of the two figures to find out the differences between feminism. The data sources used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The primary data are the books "The Second Sex" by Simone de Beauvoir and "The Right of Women in Islam" by Murthadha Muthahhari, and the secondary data are in the form of books, journals, encyclopedias, magazines, articles and theses related to Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari. Data analysis techniques use comparative and deductive conclusions. The result of this research is First, that Feminism is a movement of emancipation of women in who want to get their rights both educational, political, social and economic aspects. The feminism movement also took place in the West and the East. Every woman in the West and East equally fights for their right not to experience discrimination because of their gender. Second, Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari have similarities in their thinking ranging from women's rights, including social rights, women's roles, gender equality. Third, Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari also have differences including, the definition of women, the obligations of women, the differences between women and men. Simone de Beauvoir and Murthadha Muthahhari both wanted to drop accusations saying that women are not meaningless lowly beings. Keyword : Feminism, Murthadha Muthahhari, Simone de Beauvoir
