Abstract
ABSTRACT Name : Teti Indriyanti Study Program/Faculty :Islamic Psychology / Psychology Title :The Relationship Between Permissive Parenting Styles and Self-Confidence in SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang Sari Musi Banyuasin Students This study aims to determine the relationship between permissive parenting and self-confidence. This study uses quantitative methods and data collection techniques using a scale. The population in this study were all 144 students of SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang Sari Musi Banyuasin, while the sample was 61 people. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a relationship between permissive parenting and the self-confidence of SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang Sari Musi Banyuasin students. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using the Pearson's Product Moment correlation analysis technique which was used to see the relationship between variables assisted by IBM SPSS version 25.0 for windows. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between permissive parenting and self-confidence, this is evidenced by the results of the correlation coefficient which shows the number r = 0.361, with a sig. 0.013 where p<0.05.
