Abstract

ABSTRACT Toxic Friendship is a condition where a person's friendship is unhealthy so that it can disrupt a person's psychological health. The psychological impact can make people feel low self-esteem, hate themselves, and become pessimistic individuals. Therefore, this research aims to reveal the negative impacts of toxic friendship relationships and investigate anticipatory strategies that can be applied in the context of friendship, by referring to the concept of friendship according to Ibn Miskawaih's views. This type of research is qualitative and the form of research is literature study (library research) with a philosophical approach. The primary data source in this research is Ibnu Miskawaih's work towards moral perfection and secondary data obtained from literature such as scientific books and relevant journals. The data collection method uses the documentation method and the data analysis technique uses content analysis. The results of the research analysis findings were evaluated by comparing Ibn Miskawaih's perspective regarding the concept of friendship, which shows the moral and ethical aspects of social relationships. The results of the research show that the impact of toxic friendship is negative behavior due to dangerous toxic interactions in friendships and friendships. In addition, this research identifies anticipatory strategies that can be implemented, including friendship ethics and the need for cooperation and harmony that are in line with Ibn Miskawaih's moral values in friendship. This is in line with Ibn Miskawaih's concept of friendship, which essentially means that friendship is the main principle in social interaction.
