Abstract

In education, learning and studying are defined as continuous processes. An educator's skills are very necessary to process information related to the material taught to students which must be of high quality. Infographics are considered very effective in increasing students' learning interest in Biology, especially in Biotechnology material because it is a type of reading media that combines information with interesting illustrations. This research aims to produce valid infographic media on biotechnology material for class The population of this research is turmeric plants (Curcuma longa) found in Muara Telang District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The sampling technique used was purpose sampling. This research uses quantitative descriptive research with experimental methods. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive methods with a Likert scale. The type of data obtained from this research is qualitative and analyzed using a quantitative approach. Based on the research results that have been obtained, namely, the material expert validation test obtained a result of (91.11), while the validation carried out by the media obtained a result of (93.75), and the validation of the language expert test obtained a result of (93.33). So the average number of the three validators is (92.73), which means it is in the very valid category. And the test results for shampoo characteristics such as good homogeneity, pH with an average of 7.7 to 7.34, high foam stability with an average of 14.83 to 18.33, and viscosity test results respectively from 909.9 to 2674.46 Cp (Centipoise). The results of the characteristic test for anti-head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) shampoo from turmeric leaf extract (Curcuma longa) show that the shampoo made meets SNI regulations with organoleptic test results in the form of a distinctive aroma of the turmeric leaf herbal plant, the form observed is thick, there are no lumps and brownish green color. The best concentration is a concentration of 7% which has a color that is not too light and not too dark, the right odor that is not strong, and the texture is not too liquid and not too thick.
