Abstract

The current way of delivering lessons still uses manual methods such as direct learning or using the lecture method for learning becomes less interesting, for this reason a learning media is needed visually attractive and can display information and lesson content. One of the media Suitable learning media is infographics because this media has a structure visually appealing, has good readability and is easy to share. With It is hoped that the selection of infographic learning media will make it easier for readers to more quickly understand the material presented, especially the material Biotechnology. Biotechnology material is a concrete material that should be presented in visual media. Utilization of biotechnology materials in particular Conventional biotechnology in the health sector is the use of herbal plants in biotechnology which is developed into a product such as shampoo herbal anti-head lice. This research aims to produce media infographics on biotechnology material for class XII SMA/MA which are valid and for Know the characteristics of anti-head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) shampoo from basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum L.). The population in this study is all the leaves found on the Basil Plant (Ocimum basilicum L.) which obtained from Lontar Village, Kec. Muara Jaya, Kab. OKU, South Sumatra Province. The samples in this study were fresh basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) leaves young and fresh. The sampling technique in this research was purposive sampling. This research uses quantitative descriptive research using experimental methods which include organoleptic tests, tests homogeneity, pH test, foam height test, and viscosity test. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive methods with a Likert scale. Recapitulation results infographic learning media by experts in the fields of materials, media and language shows that the media has a very high level of validity, with an average of 92.73% of material expert validators (91.11), expert validators media (93.75%), and language expert validators (93, 33%). The percentage results shows that infographic media is suitable for use in the process Learning and characteristics of anti-head lice shampoo from basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum L.) based on the results of organoleptic tests can meet the regulations SNI. The organoleptic results for aroma showed the characteristic smell of basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum L.). viscous and has a brownish green color, has good homogeneity, pH (7.38 - 7.7), High foam (14.83 cm - 17.7 cm), and has viscosity (909.29 cp - 3066.60 cp). From the test results of existing shampoo preparations carried out, the results showed that the best shampoo to use was shampoo with a concentration of 7%.
