Abstract

This study aims to determine the motivation to stop using drugs in prisoners at Class IIA Palembang Women's Prison. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive design. The subjects in this study were three women who were drug convicts. Furthermore, the data collection method uses interviews, observation, and documentation. While data analysis uses data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusions. Motivation is an encouragement that awakens individuals to achieve certain goals. The results of this study indicate that the factors that influence the three subjects to stop using drugs are internal factors and external factors. Factors from within the subject who want to improve themselves to become a better person in the future, self-esteem, needs, expectations, responsibility and satisfaction. Subject external factors due to family support and a good environment. Keyword: Motivation, Stop using drugs, Female prisioners
