Abstract
ABSTRACT This research is entitled "Interpersonal Communication Patterns of UIN Raden Fatah Students with the Community (Case Study of Boarding House Students in the Rawajaya Neighborhood, Hero Exit, Kemuning District, Palembang City). This thesis discusses the interpersonal communication patterns of UIN Raden Fatah boarding house students with the community in Rawajaya II RT 05 Pahlawan Subdistrict Kemuning District. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method, namely research that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people or behavior that can be observed to describe interpersonal communication patterns between boarding house students and the surrounding community in accordance with the facts found. in the field. The data collection methods that the author uses are interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the research show that the pattern of interpersonal communication between boarding house students and the surrounding community starts from both parties. The messages conveyed include general messages such as greeting each other and making small talk to in-depth matters such as current issues. Even though there have been several conflicts that have occurred, most of the conflicts that occurred were not between the local community and boarding students, but with other students. The communication that occurs is no longer at the introduction stage but is already at the stage where it is starting to open up, but not yet open to more personal issues.
