Abstract

Pregnancy out of wedlock is something that is done before the marriage bond. There are several factors that encourage someone to have sex outside of marriage, namely, the lack of religious values that exist within a person, the lack of parental supervision of the association of their children and freedom in dating. This study aims to find out how the views of Christian religious leaders in Teluk Kijing III village towards pregnancy out of wedlock. This type of research is field research, the type of data in this study is qualitative data, while the data sources in this study use two data sources, namely primary and secondary. Primary data sources were obtained from the first source, namely Christian religious leaders, community leaders, government officials and local communities. Meanwhile, secondary data sources were obtained from book literature, the Bible and journals. Data collection methods in this study all data collected through interviews, observation and documentation. As for te The results of this study that pregnancy out of wedlock according to Protestant Christianity has been explained in the Bible that prohibiting adultery in any form is unlawful. However, in Protestant Christianity, a person who is pregnant out of wedlock can be purified or forgiven on the condition that he has to take lessons for 6 months after giving birth.
