Abstract

This research is based on the theory that father involvement plays a crucial role in shaping children's self-esteem, particularly during early adolescence. Based on this theory, this study aims to investigate the influence of perceived father involvement on self-esteem of early adolescents at SMA Negeri 10 Palembang. The research method used is quantitative with simple linear regression analysis technique. The sample of this study consists of students at SMA Negeri 10 Palembang selected using random sampling technique. The results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between father involvement and students' self-esteem, with 86.8% of self-esteem variability explained by father involvement. The higher the father involvement, the higher the students' self-esteem, thus it can be concluded that father involvement has a positive influence on self-esteem of early adolescents at SMA Negeri 10 Palembang.
