Abstract
Bioactive compounds are continuously carried out along with the increasing number of new diseases that emerge, ranging from infectious diseases, cancer, and various other degenerative diseases. The discovery of new antibiotic compounds and compounds that are antioxidants is very much needed to overcome this. Endophytic fungi are microbes that grow in plant tissue that can produce active secondary metabolites. One of the plants that produces secondary metabolites is red pidada (Sonneratia caseolaris). This study aims to test the antibacterial and antioxidant activities isolated from red pidada mangrove leaves (Sonneratia caseolaris). Antibacterial activity was carried out by the disc diffusion method with test bacteria E. coli and S. aureus with variations in test concentrations of 2,500, 5,000, and 10,000 ppm, and antioxidant activity by the DPPH method with variations in concentrations of 1000, 500, 250, 125, 62.5, 31.25, and 15.625 ppm. The results of the study showed that antioxidant activity showed very strong results in the endophytic fungus Periconia sp. with an IC50 value of 11,658 µg / ml. The antibacterial activity of the endophytic fungal extract was strongest in E. coli bacteria, namely Periconia sp. The group of compounds found in the endophytic fungal extract from red pidada mangrove leaves (Sonneratia caseolaris) is a flavonoid compound.
