Abstract
Mastery of student concepts is the ability of students to understand concepts after learning activities that take place in class, especially in learning physics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of guided inquiry learning models on the mastery of student concepts in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang using Static Fluid material based on indicators HOTS that has been compiled. The method used is the experimental method and the type of research Quasi Experiment Design. Data collection techniques include test methods, closed interview methods, document studies, and observation methods. The subject of this study came from 2 classes including the experimental class XI IPA 4 and the control class XI IPA 3. Based on purposive sampling technique with a population of all class XI as many as 138 samples taken by 50 people with predetermined criteria.The results showed that there was a significant difference in the concept mastery of students of class XI IPA 4 and class XI IPA 3 before and after the application of the guided inquiry model of the n-gain test that the control class got a value of 0.6 in the medium category and in the experimental class of 0.7 in the high category. For the t test with a significance level of 0.50 with a tcount of 1.211 and t(0.25)(48) of 0.681 tcount > ttable, which means H1 is accepted, where there is an influence of guided inquiry learning model on the mastery of the concept of XI Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang students .
