Abstract
Gadung bulbs grow wild which are not used by people in the red eye area. Gadung tuber can be used as a natural pesticide to reduce vegetable pests that are grown in the area. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of gadung tuber extracts (Diocorea hispida Dennst.) As eradicating the caterpillar pest (Agrotis ipsilon Hufn.) In the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang Laboratory. The method used in this study was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications, with concentrations of gadung tubers namely: 0%, 25%, 50% 75% and 100%. The parameters observed for dead soil caterpillars (Agrotis ipsilon Hufn.) Were calculated for 48 hours of treatment. Data were analyzed by Variant Analysis (ANAVA). The results showed that spraying gadung tuber juice had a very significant effect on caterpillar pest control where F count> F Table or 207.4> 4.43 at the error rate of 1%. Gadung tuber extracts affect the caterpillar mortality which is at a concentration of 75% gadung tuber juice. The high mortality of soil caterpillars (Agrotis ipsilon Hufn.) Is very maximal with a percentage of 100% mortality ie dead termites 100% at 30 o'clock.
