Abstract

Press is one of strategic institutions to educate and develop nation. It could be realised if one comprehends the responsibility of profesion according to ethic codes of journalism in spreading information. Its substance related to values is morality needed to be understood by journalists. Moreover, we still needed to be examines how far the principles of ethic codes of jounalism provide guidance and principles based on Qur'an and hadith. Analysing the content of the codes, it appears that values of morality and ethics must be applied by journalism in the light of Islam constitutes Islamic dakwah based on Qur'an and Hadits, providing guidance and bases for journalism
