Ulumuna (P-ISSN: 1411-3457; E-ISSN: 2355-7648), a journal of Islamic studies published twice a year by State Islamic University (UIN) Mataram since 1997, is concerned with publishing original (library or field) research articles in the field of Islamic studies. It promotes multidisciplinary approaches to Islam and focuses on six main topics, (1) the Qur’an and hadith (2) Islamic Law (3) Theology (Kalam) (4) Philosophy (5) Mysticism (Tasawwuf)  and (6) Education. All submitted papers are subject to double-blind review process.

Ulumuna received its accredited by the Director General of Strengthening Research and Development, Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia in 2017. Through Director Decree No. 32a/E/KPT/2017, this accreditation is effective until 2022.

Ulumuna has become a CrossRef Member since year 2015. Therefore, all articles published by Ulumuna will have unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number.

Focus and Scope

Ulumuna aims to promote scientific publication on Islam at its broadest sense covering textual, historical and empirical aspects, both classical/medieval and modern and contemporary periods, as the scholarly object of inquiry. This journal encompasses original research articles based on library and/or empirical research in the field of Islamic studies especially on, but not limited to, six main topics, namely (1) the Qur 'an and Hadith; (2) Islamic law; (3) Islamic Theology; (4) Islamic Philosophy; (5) Islamic Mysticism; and (6) Islamic Education. It encourages articles that employ a multi-disciplinary approach to those topics. Scholars that are concerned with Islam and its manifestation throughout Muslim history and geography can submit their article to Ulumuna and use this open access journal as a valuable resource in this field.

Peer Review Process

All articles submitted to this online journal are subject to peer-review processes. Ulumuna uses a double blind reviewer. The accepted research articles will be available online following the journal peer-reviewing process. The final decision whether or not an article is accepted is on the right of the editor-in-chief based on recommendations from the reviewers. The language of this journal is English.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
