Abstract
This research aims to find out the students’ attitude toward the Use of ICT in English Learning Process at Madrasah Aliyah Patra Mandiri Plaju. This research used descriptive survey methods. The population of this research was the second and the third year students’ of Madrasah Aliyah Patra Mandiri Plaju which consists 88 students. The instruments of the research were questionnaire and documentation. The questionnaire by using a rate scale by Likert. The questionnaire for the students consists of 26 items, designed by Kubiatko and Halakova (2009) were distributed by online in Google Form to the sample. Then, the documentation to get the additional data of ICTs equipment’s at school. The results of the questionnaire were divided into four dimensions. (1) The positive influence of ICT; (2) the negative influence of ICT; (3) advantages of ICT; (4) disadvantages of ICT. The result of the data analysis showed that the results of students’ positive attitudes were greater than negative attitudes toward the Use of ICT in English Learning Process. The students had positive attitude toward the advantages of ICT in the classroom. Then, the students had negative attitude toward the disadvantages of ICT in the classroom. Based on the explanation above, the results of questionnaire indicated that the students have positive attitude on using ICT’s in the classroom. Although, in practice, there were some problems appeared while studying activity such as lack of technology competence.
