Abstract
This study investigated the language attitude of students towards English language learning. Survey method was used in this study to describe the attitude of eight grade of six junior high school students towards English language learning. This study was conducted in six junior high schools in Palembang (SMP Sumsel Jaya, SMP N 45, SMP PTI, SMP Kartini, SMP Srijaya Negara, and Ponpes amalul khoir) with the participants were 302 students on six junior high schools. For collecting the data, the researcher employed a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of 15 items from behavioral aspect, 15 items from cognitive aspect, and 15 items from affective (behavioral) aspect. The results of this study showed that there were three aspects of attitude. There were (1) behavioral aspect was positive, (2) cognitive aspect was positive, (3) and affective (emotional) aspect was positive. So the result of this study indicated that the attitude of six junior high school students towards English language learning were generally a positive.
