Abstract

ABSTRAK Nama : Firmansyah NIM : 1564400028 Fakultas : Adab dan Humaniora Program Studi/Tahun : Ilmu Perpustakaan/ 2020 Judul Skripsi : Proses Pencarian Informasi Siswa SMAN Sumatera Selatan Menggunakan Model Information Search Process (ISP). xxi + 86 hlm + lampiran Pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi terjadi karena adanya kebutuhan akan informasi yang dirasakan seseorang. Tujuan penelitian pertama, untuk mengetahui proses pencarian informasi di SMAN Sumatera Selatan. Kedua, untuk mengetahui apa saja kendala yang dihadapi pada saat pencarian informasi di SMAN Sumatera Selatan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti yaitu penelitian deskriptif dan pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan oleh peneliti, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Proses pencarian informasi siswa SMAN Sumatera Selatan diawali dari inisiasi yaitu berlatarbelakang karena ingin mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru, kebutuhan belajar, mencari kebenaran informasi, dan menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan. Selanjutnya tahap seleksi yaitu jika informasi yang telah ditemukan maka siswa akan mencatat, merangkum dan menshare ke siswa yang lainnya. Selanjutnya tahap eksplorasi yaitu jika informasi yang dicari tidak ditemukan maka siswa akan mencari lagi, mencari sumber lain seperti guru atau pun kakak kelas. Selanjutnya tahap formulasi yaitu setelah menemukan informasi maka siswa akan mengakhiri pencarian dan menjadikan sesuai kebutuhan. Selanjutnya tahap interaksi, yaitu meninterasikan informasi yang didapat dari internet dan juga buku kepada teman-teman. Sementari itu tahap tertakhir yaitu tahap persentasi yaitu siswa setelah pencarian informasi ditemuan, kemudian siswa mengakhiri pencarian hasil pencarian siap untuk dibuat ke dalam kebutuhan masing-masing siswa. Adapun kendala yang dihadapi ketika melakukan pencarian informasi ada enam yaitu jam belajar yang sangat padat, pulang sekolah jam empat sore sehingga menyebabkan siswa tidak ada waktu untuk ke perpustakaan, perpustakaan hanya buka dari jam sembilan pagi sampai dengan jam empat sore, koneksi internet di SMA N Sumatera Selatan yang lambat, masih kurangnya koleksi yang dimiliki perpustakaan dan informasi yang dicari tidak ada di buku yang ada di perpustakaan sekolah. The purpose of the first research, to determine the process of finding information in South Sumatra High School. Second, to find out what are the obstacles faced when searching for information in SMAN South Sumatra. This type of research used by researchers is descriptive research and the research approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that the process of information retrieval of South Sumatra High School students begins from the initiation of background because they want to do the assignments given by the teacher, learning needs, seek truth information, and add insight and knowledge. The next stage of the selection is if the information that has been found then students will record, summarize and share to other students. The next stage of exploration is that if the information sought is not found then students will search again, look for other sources such as the teacher or even seniors. The next step is the formulation that is after finding information the student will end the search and make it as needed. The next stage is the interaction, which is to interpret information obtained from the internet and also books to friends. Meanwhile the last stage is the presentation stage, the students after the information search is found, then the students end the search for the search results ready to be made into the needs of each student. As for the obstacles encountered when searching for information there are six, namely very dense study hours, home from school at four in the afternoon causing students no time to go to the library, the library is only open from nine in the morning until four in the afternoon, internet connection at SMA N South Sumatra is slow, there is still a lack of collections owned by the library and the information sought is not in the books in the school library.
