Abstract
ABSTRACT This Research discusses about altruism behavior based on gender in Ketimbang Ngemis Palembang Community. This study aims to determine the differences in altruism behavior based on gender in the active members of the community on Ketimbang Ngemis Palembang. This research is a kind of quantitative research with comparative research design. The subjects of the study were 110 people consisting of 65 active female members and 42 active male members. The research data was compiled using altruism behavior scale based on Choen aspect. Data analysis method used to test the research hypothesis using independent sample t-test. The calculation of data analysis using the help of SPSS version 22 for windows. The results of this study indicate that there is no difference in altruism behavior based on gender. With a value of Sig (2-tailed) of 0.339 indicating that the value of significance (2-tailed) is greater than p = 0.05 (0.339> 0.05) or t value of 0.961 indicating that the value of t is less than at the value of t table of 1.9877 (0.961 <1.9877) then Ha rejected and Ho accepted. This study shows that the active members of the community Ketimbang Ngemis Palembang have the same tendency to behave altruistic only distinguishing situations. Keywords: Behavior of Altruism, Gender
