Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out the teacher’s problems in teaching English to visually impaired students. The participant of the study was an English teacher of visually impaired students at SLB A PRPCN Palembang. A qualitative research design with case study method was used in this research. In order to collect the data, interview method were implemented in order to get an in depth description and picture of the problems of the English teacher. To analyze the data, this research used thematic analysis to determine the problems. The findings indicated that there were several problems that the English teacher’s encountered during teaching English to visually impaired students, and they were 1) lack of time allocation, 2) students’ misbehavior, 3) lack of availability textbook and; 4) uncomfortable classroom condition.
