Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the problems faced by the teacher in teaching process and strategies in teaching English for hyperactive learners. The participant for the study was an English teacher at SLB Gentaralam Palembang. A qualiative research design with case study method was used in this research. In order to collect the data, interview method was implemented in order to get a depth description and the picture of the problems and strategies in teaching English for hyperactive learners. To analyse the data, this research used thematic analysis to determine their problems and strategies in teaching English for hyperactive learners. The findings indicated that there were several problems faced by the English teacher in teaching English for hyperactive learners, they are 1) attention problem, 2) memory problem, 3) temper problem, 4) hopeless, 5) socialization problem and 6) teaching strategies problem.While the strategy in teaching English used by the English teacher for hyperactive learners was group discussion.
