Abstract
This study aims to describe students’ critical thinking skills and adversity quotient, and to find out whether there is a relationship between adversity quotient and students’ critical thinking skills in solving story problems. The research approach used is quantitative with the correlation method. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 9 Palembang with a population of all students of class VIII. The sample in this study amounted to 62 students. The instrument used is a critical thinking ability test and non-test in the form of an AQ questionnaire. The results show that (1) The critical thinking skills of each student has different achievements and the type of Adversity Quotient (AQ) most of the students are in the camper type, (2) There is a significant relationship between adversity quotient and students’ critical thinking skills in solving story problems.
