Abstract
This research aims to obtain an overview of happiness in the elderly who live in social institutions. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive from the Harapan Kita Elderly Social Institution, Lubuklinggau City. There were three participants from the Harapan Kita Eldery Social Institution Lubuklinggau City, using a purposive sampling method and homogeneous samping. Data was collected by means of interviews, observation and documentation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation and member check . All feel happy with the meaning of fhappy and calm. All the needs of the subjects were met, they did not think much about eating, in the nursing home everything was available, although there were limitations, all the subjects did not mind it. The happiness factors of the three subjects are social support, health, tranquility and culture or the atmosphere in the orphanage. The happiness felt by all of these subjects is firstly activity, secondly namely health, third namely social life and the fourth is hope.
