Abstract
English is one of the international languages and a tool used by the teachers in teaching. In this case for teaching vocabulary. The purpose of this study was to find out the teachers’ problems in teaching English vocabulary at SD Islam AlFahd Jakabaring. Participants in this study were two English teachers at SD Islam Al-Fahd Jakabaring taken by using purposeful sampling. This research was a case study design. Interviews were used to collect the research data. Interviews were conducted with two English teachers at SD Islam Al-Fahd Jakabaring. Data obtained from interviews were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The findings of this research revealed that there were teachers’ problems in teaching English vocabulary, as follows: (1) The material on the textbook was different from the lesson plan, (2) Various of students characteristics in teaching English vocabulary, (3) The role of using media and non-media in teaching English vocabulary, (4) The students who was less interested in learning process, and (5) The students who was dishonest in learning process.
