Abstract
This study aims to 1) determine the learning achievement of 5th grade students at MI Najahiyah Palembang in the era of the covid-19 pandemic, 2) find out the impact of using gadgets on student achievement in the era of the covid-19 pandemic. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects in this study were the Head of MI Najahiyah Palembang, class VB teacher, 5 students in class VB MI Najahiyah Palembang, and student guardians. The technique used in this research is observation, interview, and documentation. The instruments used in this research are 1) Field Observation 2) Principal interview sheet 3) Class teacher interview sheet 4) Student interview sheet 5) Student guardian interview sheet. Data from interviews with the Head of MI, homeroom teacher, students and guardians of students will be analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study concluded: 1) The learning achievement of class VB MI Najahiyah students decreased. This is based on the results of interviews with student guardians and homeroom teachers, but the school still understands that a decrease in children's learning achievement at school is a natural thing, especially in this era of the covid-19 pandemic, in learning in the era of the covid-19 pandemic, students and parents have difficulties. because learning is done at home using gadgets. and due to several factors, namely: a. economic factors, b. factors of students addicted to playing gadgets, c. lack of parental assistance and supervision, d. Lack of Motivation. 2) The impact of using gadgets on student learning achievement is that there are positive and negative impacts of using gadgets on student achievement in this era of the covid-19 pandemic. But it is more dominant to the negative impact that gadgets have on student achievement which can be seen from the way parents educate, teach and communicate with their children when learning to use gadgets. And the lack of parental supervision and attention when children play with gadgets, because parents underestimate the impact that gadgets have on student achievement in this pandemic era. Parents must be more careful in supervising and monitoring children's activities when using daily gadgets to minimize the negative impacts caused by using gadgets so that children's learning achievement at school continues to increase in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
