Abstract
Indonesian has a very important role in the life of the nation and state. But in reality what is faced in learning Indonesian about speaking, there are still many students who are not able to express themselves through speaking activities, for example students are less active in learning activities about speaking, students are often embarrassed when asked to speak in front of their friends. However, the formulation of the problem and the objectives of this study are to find out how the ability to speak Indonesian is in the control class, how is the ability to speak Indonesian in the experimental class, and is there any effect of practice rehearsal pairs strategy in improving the ability to speak Indonesian. The method used is a quantitative method with a quasiexperimental research type. The post-test data obtained an average student score of 73.39, from the results of the analysis of the hypothesis test, it is known that the value of the experimental class is greater than the value of the control class. This is shown from the results of tcount = 8.048 and ttable = 2.048. Because tcount > ttable, then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that it can be seen that there is an average difference between the two groups. In other words, the use of practice rehearsal pairs strategy (practice) in pairs) has an influence on the Indonesian language skills of fifth grade students at MIN 1 Prabumulih.
