Abstract

The use of learning media is the main key to achieving effective and efficient learning. In biotechnology material there is a lot of material whose delivery requires a teacher to not only focus on the theory presented in class. Therefore, this material is very suitable for use in developing infographic learning media, because most biotechnology material is concrete material that should be presented in visual media. An example of the application of biotechnology materials in the health sector is the manufacture of anti-head lice shampoo using herbal plants in the form of kenikir. This research aims to produce valid infographic media on biotechnology material for class The population in this study were kenikir plants found in Sako District, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province. The research sample used was kenikir leaves that were not too old. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. This research uses quantitative descriptive research using experimental methods with characteristic tests. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive methods with a Likert scale. The results of the recapitulation of infographic media by experts show that the media has a very high level of validity, with an average of 93.53% from material expert validators (91.11%), media expert validators (95%) and language expert validators ( 93.33%). Therefore, this media can be tested in the field to evaluate its level of practicality. The characteristics of anti-head lice shampoo from kenikir leaf extract (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) based on the characteristics test results show that the shampoo meets SNI regulations. The organoleptic results for aroma showed the typical smell of kenikir leaves, the texture was thick and had a blackish green color, had good homogeneity, pH 7.49 – 7.7, foam height 14.83 cm –17.67 cm and had a viscosity value of 909. 29 – 2862.97 cp. The F2 shampoo preparation (concentration 7%) has the best characteristics with a viscosity value of 1565.56 cp which has a texture that is not too thick, so it is not sticky when used.
