Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of the use of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning modules on students' multiple representation abilities on benzene materials and their derivatives and to determine the improvement of students' multiple representation abilities on benzene and derivatives materials through AR-based chemistry modules. The method used is in the form of a quantitative approach with the type of quasi-experimental research (pseudo experiment), namely in the form of experiments that have treatment with the design of a pretest-posttest control group design. The determination of the research sample used the Simple random sampling method. The treatment given to the experimental class was in the form of learning using AR-based modules, and the treatment in the control class was in the form of learning using PowerPoint and students' handbooks. Data collection techniques use interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis technique by conducting the Mann Whitney test. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in students' multiple representation abilities after using AR-based modules. was an increase in students' multiple representation abilities after using AR-based modules. Based on the results of the Mann Whitney test research, it produces a value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 It can be concluded that the AR-based chemistry learning module on benzene material and its derivatives is effective on the students' multiple representation abilities and in the N-gain test produces an average score of 1 which is included in the high improvement category,, so that learning using AR-based learning modules can improve students' multiple representation abilities on benzene and derivatives.
