Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Advance Organizer assested ICT learning model on students’ mathematical communication skills. The type of research used is true experimental design with posttest only control design. The study was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang with a population of all tenth grade students. The sample used in this study is simple random sampling, so that class X.IPA.B was chosen as the experimental class which would be given treatment namely learning model of Advance Organizer assested ICT and class X.IPA.A as a control class that was not treated. Research data was collected through observations and tests. Based on an analysis of the results of observations, it is indicated that students’ verbal mathematical communication skills experience changes from each meeting. While the analysis of the test results showed that the written mathematical communication skills of students in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. Statistical calculations obtained from the test results produce thitung , 4,11 and ttabel 2,00 which is thitung > ttabel causes Ho to be rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that there is an influence of the learning model of Advance Organizer assested ICT on mathematical communication skills of tenth grade students of
